Drone footage edit of the Wichita Mountains in SouthWestern Oklahoma.
Some work on the house this weekend with a great deal of help.
Officially started my position with ISS today. On the south side of OU campus, the office is adjacent to the National Weather Service.
Really nice people so far, but it’s different since no one here is on my team or even in my group. I’ll probably just be coming down to Norman a few times a week unless something changes.
Foo Fighters tonight! Great concert.
First (real) snowfall in the new house since I moved in 9 months ago.
The Gadsden flag was a slogan and symbol popularized during the American Revolution in a war against the British over the excessive taxation and control over the American colonies. Over the years it has remained a symbol against taxes and government control over the people.
In Oklahoma, and probably several other states as well, For an added $18.00 to the regular cost of your car tag; the tax of that vehicle by the state government, you can display that defiant slogan on your car. A lesson in Irony.
I really like this one, but I think the seller is wanting a bit more for it than it’s worth. Will see how the negotiation goes. I really like the location as well and it has convinced me to go with a home a few years older vs. new construction. I’ve been very picky about homes but this one I have liked most everything about it.
Update: I put an offer down and it was accepted. Pending everything going well, I will be in this house by the end of May.
Update: I am now a home owner! (June 13, 2014)
After three months of waiting, several setbacks on the arrival date and a few trips to Dallas to finalize the sale, The Park Place Mercedes dealership in Dallas made good on delivery by shipping my car to me free of charge to Oklahoma City. So there we have it, my first new car in over a decade after going most of a decade without using a car. I must say, I really love how the car feels too. More photos to come.
