Galveston

I was always told that Corpus Christi, Texas was much nicer and cleaner than Galveston. That proved to be false. It wasn’t bad, but Galveston felt about the same and with a better ocean view.

The New Guy

Officially started my position with ISS today. On the south side of OU campus, the office is adjacent to the National Weather Service.
Really nice people so far, but it’s different since no one here is on my team or even in my group. I’ll probably just be coming down to Norman a few times a week unless something changes.

The day the Mercedes arrived

After three months of waiting, several setbacks on the arrival date and a few trips to Dallas to finalize the sale, The Park Place Mercedes dealership in Dallas made good on delivery by shipping my car to me free of charge to Oklahoma City. So there we have it, my first new car in over a decade after going most of a decade without using a car. I must say, I really love how the car feels too. More photos to come.

Hope is a place

This year, which has not been bad at all, has been going by at an incredible, mind numbing speed. Seems like yesterday it was New Years Eve in Times Square and now we are at Halloween again already. This year however, has been different than the past. For the better actually. See, I haven’t found out things yet, but I’ve had to deal with a lot of things I been avoiding and I have had to confront some pretty big fears. Yea, I know, sorry, cryptic and I apologize but, I like to let you in on the fact that I am having these insights, just not as to what they are.

Tomorrow is Halloween night and I was going to try and get back to Oklahoma to be with Nate this year, simply because even though we always video chat every year before and after the event, I haven’t been with him dressed up in his little outfit in four years now. It’s a trade off to have Christmas and it’s an easy choice, but still, how many years does your kid still want to dress up as a Star Wars Clone Trooper? I’m missing out on that and it doesn’t go by me without difficult notice. So we video chat again and we enjoy the time we spend at Christmas and we hope next year allows us to get both.

Our365

So, here’s something new: I started a new job today with a startup called Our365. A photo sharing website for families of New Borns. This feels like a new direction and a new opportunity and I am excited to see what we can to do with it. It’s practically building new from the ground up. I will no longer enjoy a short walking commute in the mornings as I will be catching the express 4 train every morning to my office on Park Avenue.
