Zombies and Politics

I tried to buy some ammo for my handgun yesterday, for the first time in over six months. No one, and I mean no one has any on the shelf to sell. People have been making runs on Ammo since Newtown and the newest debate over gun legislation. Which, is interesting, considering no one is talking about limiting ammo sales, especially for a common .9mm.

Academy sports said they get three truckloads a week and people line up at the door like tech-nerds line up for a SXSW party. It’s gone in minutes after every shipment.

Another explanation that the overly helpful and interesting guy at Walmart had for the ammo unavailability was “There’s been a lot of Zombie movies lately.”

My pained sigh goes here.

For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you're not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.
